Quick answer

At the bottom of the Crypt, place 6 statues (3 of them cast from Clay in a Statue Mold) and turn each one to follow the winding pattern on the floor. Facing the closed door as north: left column S, NE, NE; right column NW, NW, SW (nearest to farthest). Reward: Crystal Egg.

Where it is

At the bottom of the Crypt, past the spot where you find the Bean Gem.

How to solve it

  1. Fill all 6 pedestals. Three statues are already around; the other three are cast from Clay with a Statue Mold. Get Clay from goo piles with the Pickaxe — how to get Clay.
  2. Read the floor. A pattern on the ground shows a winding path — one player describes it as a trail of skeletons, the playthrough video calls it a “snake pattern”. Each statue must face the way the path continues.
  3. Turn the statues. Treat the closed door as north:
Closed door = North ↑You enter from this side · 1 = statue nearest to youLeft1: S2: NE3: NERight1: NW2: NW3: SW
Reported solution (one player source) — check it against the floor pattern and the video above.
Position (nearest → farthest) Left column Right column
1st statue South North-west
2nd statue North-east North-west
3rd statue North-east South-west
  1. The door opens and you get the Crystal Egg, one of the true ending treasures.

These directions come from one player’s report, repeated by another guide. If yours doesn’t open, follow the pattern on the floor yourself (the video above shows it) — and let us know what worked.

FAQ

Where do I get the missing statues?

Three of the six are cast from Clay using a Statue Mold (it holds up to 16 Clay). See how to get Clay.

Are the dog and frog statues part of a puzzle?

The developers have said the dog statue is decorative and not one of the treasures. Players report the frog statue is decorative too.
