How it works
- Animal Hide: when you break a Rat down into Raw Meat (hand crafting), you also get 1 Animal Hide. Some players catch rats with a Rat Trap (3 Sticks).
- Leather: at the Workbench, 2 Animal Hide → 1 Leather.
- Unlocking the recipe: you need to pick up a piece of real Leather first. The first one comes from a chest early on (players report a small chest in the sewers containing Leather; accounts differ on exactly which chest).
The developers have said Leather also drops more deeper in the dungeon, so the shortage eases as you progress.
