Every Key and Locked Door

Updated · Puzzles

Quick answer

Keys are cast in the Smelter from molds (5 Coal + 8 Scrap Metal each). The Iron Key opens the door next to the Jaguar Door; the Prison Key is in a chest behind it; the Jaguar Door needs 3 Key Pieces and hides the Silver Dagger.

Keys at a glance

Key / door How to get it What it opens
Iron Key Cast in the underground Smelter from a key mold + 5 Coal + 8 Scrap Metal. You first need to cast a larger key to reach that corridor. The door next to the Jaguar Door
Prison Key In a chest in the skeleton room behind the Iron Key door. (The developers have said some key placements vary.) The inner prison door → spider prison
Small Keys There are several. The 2nd one hangs on a hook at the far end of the scorpion area, around the pits and climbing spots. Includes the high door across the gap in the main hall
Jaguar Door 3 Key Pieces, each cast in the Smelter from its own mold (5 Coal + 8 Scrap Metal). The Silver Dagger
Sun & Moon coins In the kitchens on the left and right of the bat dining hall. Placed in the water statue’s hands, they drain the water

The water statue (Sun and Moon coins)

  1. Find the Sun coin and the Moon coin in the two kitchens on either side of the bat dining hall.
  2. Put both in the hands of the water-spouting statue. The water drops and a chest appears.
  3. In the Marble Ruins (by the fountain and corn), that chest holds the Gold Talisman — one of the 6 gold treasures for the true ending.
  4. Leave both coins in place — taking one back raises the water again.

Smelter basics

Every cast key costs 5 Coal + 8 Scrap Metal in the Smelter. Building your own Smelter needs Clay — see how to get Clay.

FAQ

Can I open the Jaguar Door in the demo?

No — the developers said it's only in the full game.

Is it 3 or 4 Key Pieces?

Most sources say 3 Key Pieces, each cast from its own mold. One player wrote "four molds"; we go with 3 until confirmed.

I took a coin back and the water rose again

Both the Sun and Moon coins have to stay in the statue's hands. Remove either and the water comes back.
